Simulation Theory: Do We Live in a Digital Reality?

“We gaze at the sky and see stars. However, what if we are actually staring at ‘pixels’ on a giant cosmic screen? The question is no longer merely science fiction from Hollywood movies. Rather, it has become physical equations written in prestigious universities. Are we real, or are we characters in a sophisticated divine game?”

Humans have long been haunted by a vague feeling that reality is “not entirely real.” This ranges from Plato’s cave, where humans saw shadows and believed them to be truth, to mystics who called the world “Maya” (illusion). Today, this question wears a new digital cloak called **Simulation Theory**. The idea is simple yet terrifying. If civilizations evolve technically enough, they will inevitably create simulations of their ancestors. Since the number of simulations would be in the billions while the “original” reality is only one, mathematical probability suggests we likely live inside a simulation.

However, what does modern science say in 2024 and 2025? Have we found “technical glitches” in the fabric of the universe?

1. The Proponents: The Universe Compresses Its Data!

One of the strongest new pieces of evidence comes from physicist Melvin Vopson. He proposed a new law of physics called the **Second Law of Infodynamics**.

We all know that chaos (entropy) in the universe always increases, according to the second law of thermodynamics. However, Vopson discovered something strange. “Information entropy” in biological and atomic systems **decreases** or remains constant rather than increasing.

“The universe deletes excess information and compresses data constantly. This is exactly what a computer program does (ZIP) to save space. Why would a ‘natural’ universe need a data compression algorithm? Unless, of course, it is designed to run efficiently inside a digital processor.”

Vopson goes even further. He proposes that “information” is the fifth state of matter and has physical mass. Thus, we might simply be characters in a highly advanced video game being optimized (rendered) to reduce energy consumption.

2. Reality “On Demand”: New Experiments

Another team of scientists, influenced by the works of Thomas Campbell and Rizwan Virk, is now conducting new experiments inspired by quantum mechanics. The core idea is simple. In video games, the computer does not draw the whole world at once. Instead, it only renders “what the player is looking at” (Rendering on Demand).

Consequently, if experiments prove that reality only exists at the moment of observation (which the Double Slit Experiment hints at), this would mean the universe “saves processing resources”. This reinforces the hypothesis that we live in a resource-constrained simulation, not an infinite reality.

3. The Skeptics: Consciousness is Not an Algorithm (2025 Study)

On the other hand, a major blow was dealt to simulation theory recently. The University of British Columbia (UBC) published very recent research (late 2025) led by Dr. Mir Faizal. The research used mathematical logic, specifically Gödel’s Incompleteness Theorem, to prove that the universe **cannot be a simulation**.

  • The Argument: Any simulation is necessarily “algorithmic” (based on specific code and rules).
  • The Reality: Aspects of our reality, especially consciousness and perception, rely on “non-algorithmic understanding”.
“A computer, no matter how powerful, cannot simulate what cannot be written in code. Since human consciousness and cosmic truth contain elements that transcend logical calculation, we essentially live in an ‘original’ reality, not a digital one.”

4. What Does This Mean for Your Soul?

Whether we live in a simulation or not, the most important question remains: **Who is the player?** If your body is the “Avatar” and your mind is the “User Interface,” then who is holding the controller?

The theory does not deny spirituality. On the contrary, it might be a new scientific language for it.

  • Death: It might not be an end, but merely a “Log out” or a transition to a higher level.
  • Miracles: They could be “programmatic interventions” or the use of higher laws (Cheat Codes) like love and mercy that break the algorithms of selfishness.
  • Karma: It is the data log (Log File) that saves all your actions.

Conclusion: You Are the Only Truth

Perhaps the debate between “Digital Physics” and “Non-Algorithmic Consciousness” is the modern face of the “Matter vs. Spirit” dialectic. However, the only thing that cannot be faked is **your experience right now**.

The feeling you have as you read, the beating of your heart, and your wonder—these are the things that make reality “real.” Even if the world is an illusion, the “Witness” to the illusion is real. Live your life as if it were a game, but play it with a real heart. In the end, the most beautiful part of the game is not winning, but the experience itself.
